Since this is a photo scavenger hunt, everything you do on the list must have PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE. Therefore, even if it is not specifically stated, you do indeed need a photo of whatever action is listed.

This year, each photo must have a FRUIT in the picture, according to your specific team's name.

IT IS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE TO READ THE ENTIRE LIST BEFORE SETTING OUT ON YOUR ADVENTURE. This list is in no particular order, and several of the items can be done at the same time/place. It is up to you to make sure your list is completed in a timely manner.

Most of all, remember that this is all for fun and really shouldn't be taken too seriously. The event sponsors are not responsible for any damage either caused to you or your personal belongings or any damage done by you during the course of the game. By participating, you agree to accept responsibility for any actions you do and that Kyle, Sumedh, or Madison are not liable for any grievances which may or may not occur.

You may call either myself or Sumedh ONCE per TEAM for clarification purposes for a maximum of five minutes. After that, we will inform you if you call us again that your team's chance has been used. If you choose to talk anyway, FIFTY POINTS per minute will be deducted. Facebook messages are okay; we will respond to them at a time of our convenience. Do NOT bother us at work. That's rude. It'll also result in a subtraction of 100 points per team.

Progress

So we had a meeting last night to think of more things to hunt for. Sumedh, Kyle, and I have found ourselves leaning toward local businesses/ places with history. We like the idea of this scavenger hunt not only being a way to fart around during spring break and show a little competitiveness, but also a way for everyone involved to feel a little more connected to South Louisiana - because it really is a great place!

Of course there will be some generic things that one could find anywhere, but we're sending you all around South LA - You'll know where all of these great touristy places are as well as the places only locals know about. We really hope that this 'theme' will be exciting for everyone and enrich your lives here - you might find a new place to sit and think, a new place to get inspired, or a new place to spend an afternoon.

Old lists and such

So I'm in class right now and I found the list from the first scavenger hunt.

Here it is, for everyone to get a general idea (keep in mind the latest one is cleaned up a lot and way more interesting, IMO) of what goes on during these hunts.

Keep this site bookmarked - it will be the site for the final list (SHORT preview will be released on the 15th of April, FULL list early morning on the 16th!)

Without further delay, here's the ORIGINAL hunt list/final rules!

Since this is a photo scavenger hunt, everything you do on the list must have PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE. Therefore, even if it is not specifically stated, you do indeed need a photo of whatever action is listed. You need at least one member of your team in each photo! For photos where that would be difficult (such as taking photos of multiple items at once) having one ID card in the picture will suffice.

If you run into any kind of trouble, don't hesitate to give me a call. Meet back at my apartment no later than six. In case of a tie, the team which arrives at my apartment the earliest after the day will win.

IT IS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE TO READ THE ENTIRE LIST BEFORE SETTING OUT ON YOUR ADVENTURE. This list is in no particular order, and several of the items can be done at the same time/place. It is up to you to make sure your list is completed in a timely manner.

IF YOU ARRIVE AT THE APARTMENT BEFORE FOUR WITHOUT HAVING DONE EVERYTHING ON THE LIST, THERE WILL BE A 100 POINT PENALTY. After 4PM but before 6PM no penalty. After 6PM, 200 point penalty for every fifteen minutes you are late.

Most of all, remember that this is all for fun and really shouldn't be taken too seriously. The event sponsors are not responsible for any damage either caused to you or your personal belongings or any damage done by you during the course of the game. By participating, you agree to accept responsibility for any actions you do and that Kyle and Michael are not liable for any grievances which may or may not occur.

YOU MUST CHECK IN BETWEEN NOON AND TWO EITHER IN PERSON OR BY PHONE.

THE LIST:

1.Find a Lafayette Parish Sheriff's officer. Snag a picture of him/her. (5pts) [+10 if he's waving his handcuffs or sticking his tongue out]
2.Take pictures of at least three of the pelican statues (10 pts)
3.At ULL, find the brick on the walk of fame that has Chantel Guidry's name. (25 pts)
4.Stop for a moment at the mini-park in downtown Lafayette near Polk St. Take the opportunity to dance in the giant ground fountain and snag a photo of yourself or your teammate doing so. (20 pts)
5.Get a picture with a Walgreens photo technician (10 pts)
6.Take a picture of a man in a dress standing in front of a house of worship (30 pts)
7.Take a picture of a woman who is not in your party holding a shotgun (10 pts)
8.Go to a tux/bridal dress shop. Try on an outfit which has a non-traditional color [eg not white or black]. Take a picture of yourself wearing the outfit (10 pts) [+15 if you can convince an employee to also dress up in the same color as you] [+20 if you wear the opposite gender's outfit]
9.Find Old Vogue in downtown Lafayette. Take a picture while wearing any mask from the Star Wars/Star Trek movie. (10 pts)
10.At Wal-Mart, get a photo of someone on your team hugging the greeter (10 pts) [+10 if you hug two greeters at once]
11.Go to any GameStop location. Find a copy of Pokemon FireRed, Pokemon Emerald, and Resident Evil 4. Take pictures of them. (15 pts) [+35 if you can find one with a copy of the original Spyro the Dragon for the PS1]
12.Get a uniform shirt from a food service place [i.e. Burger King, Domino's, Taco Bell]. Put that shirt on. Go to a COMPETITOR [i.e. burger for burger, pizza for pizza, Mexican for Mexican] and take a picture with an employee (25 pts) [-5 if you must borrow a shirt from Kyle]
13.At ANY place that sells CD's, find an R. Kelly album and a Pink album. Put the albums facing up on a counter and snag a photo (10 pts)
14.At Marcello's, take a picture of the youngest person in your team/that you can find holding a bottle of liquor (25 pts) [+30 if the person is an extreme minor {as in under fifteen}]
15.Wherever you stop for lunch, propose to whomever is behind the counter (20 pts)
16.Do a limp-wristed pose in front of the Sound Factory (10 pts)
17.Thug it out in front of Stan's (10 pts)
18.Do a reversal of numbers sixteen and seventeen (25 pts)
19.Take photos of seven different flavors of vitamin water (20 pts) [+10 if they're all in the same photo]
20.At Wal-Mart, put condoms and lube down the preschool aisle (25 pts) [+10 if you catch an angry parent in the same photo as the condoms and lube]
21.At Martin Hall (the main office building at ULL) hold up a sign/wear a shirt in support of LSU (15 pts)
22.Take a picture in front of the 1408 movie poster at any movie theatre (10 pts)
23.Find kiwi fruits. Arrange them to make a smiley face, complete with eyes, a nose, and a smile (10 pts)
24.Take a picture of a “Caution: Slow Children” sign (15 pts)
25.Take a picture of the Short St street sign (55 pts) [this has a high point value because it's not a very safe part of town and hard to get to unless you ask around]
26.Have one member dress up in some sort of costume and get pictures of that person doing the moonwalk (10 pts)
27.Get a picture of someone smoking a cigarette [preferably not someone on your team] at an illegal distance from a government building [less than 25 feet from any entrance] (20 pts)
28.Go to Borden's. Take a picture of one of the pictures of the cow. (10 pts)
29.Find a Sonic where the carhops still wear skates. Take a picture of one. (15 pts)
30.Get a picture of Albertson's brand vodka. Never, ever drink it, though. (10 pts)
31.Take a picture of yourself dancing in front of a bookstore [used, new, or comic books are acceptable] (15 pts)
32.Find a jar of Reese's Crunchy peanut butter. (15 pts)
33.Find a copy of the Simpson's Clue board game. (20 pts) [+25 if ANY other Simpson's game is also in the same picture, INCLUDING video games]
34.Take a photo of a Chinese buffet sign (15 pts)
35.Find a fabric store [NOT Wal-Mart's fabric dept]. Get a picture of a team member holding any red fabric (10 pts)
36.Take a picture of three different plushies from three different Nickelodeon cartoons [must all be in the same picture] (20 pts) [+20 if one from Aaah! Real Monsters] [+20 if one from Rocko's Modern Life] [+20 if one from Doug]
37.At a bookstore, find a novel about Hurricane Katrina. Take a photo. (15 pts)
38.Find a stretch Hummer. Take a photo. (10 pts)
